Director & Owner
Dance has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I’ve spent countless hours practicing, performing, and competing. I began dancing in California at Expressions Dance Studio where I trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and clogging. When my family relocated to Oregon, I continued to train in ballet, jazz, and tap at Pacific School of Dance here in Coos Bay. I was part of the Marshfield Upbeats Dance Team for four years, captain my senior year, and selected for the all-state team.
After high school, I attended Southwestern Oregon Community College and joined the cheerleading team. There, I was captain and assistant coach. When I graduated from Southwestern, I moved to Eugene where I attended University of Oregon. There, I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology. While in Eugene, I took dance classes at the University of Oregon. I also joined the Dance Factory for a few years dancing with their Urban Pulse team which focused on hip-hop. Later, I joined Prestige, the Dance Factory’s jazz company.
Five years ago I relocated back to Coos Bay and began volunteering and teaching as one of the dance instructors of jazz and tap at Pacific School of Dance. A year ago, I was selected as the new head coach of the Marshfield Upbeats Dance Team which has been a dream come true. After my first year of successful coaching, I made the decision to start my own dance studio to share my love for dance.
I started dancing when I was nine years old at Rhythms West Dance Academy. At the age of 10, I started competing and completely falling in love with dance. My 8th grade year, I was an assistant teacher in a tiny tots tap class. After being a long time fan of the Marshfield Upbeats Dance Team, I joined my freshman year and continued on the team for four years. My senior year on the team, I was one of the captains.
After graduating high school in 2018 and after nine years of competing, performing, and practicing, I realized how important dance is to me. Dance will always hold a special place in my heart. I am currently attending Southwestern Oregon Community College and working as an assistant teacher at Emmanuel Preschool. I am so thrilled for this new chapter in my life and to be involved and helping at Prestige Dance Academy!
I have been dancing on an off for almost 10 years n ow, and have also taught classes for about two years. I’m currently working on becoming a preschool teacher – I love being around children, so getting to teach mini calsses is extra special for me! Lately, I’ve been taking break from all that to be stay-at-home mom. I have a one year old daughter, Penelope, who I hope will have a love for dance just like her momma! I look forward to getting back into teaching and seeing all the bright and shining faces every week.
